Just to ramble a bit about what others have posted;

It took me a few minutes to realise Conroy had replaced O'Brien, they're almost identical! I'm pretty sure Ferguson can play prop at a push, certainly more than Walker or Mellor can this last season and probably not as stretching it as Blythe in the second row. I really worry about the idea of Gaskell at centre, him and a half-back defending one flank doesn't appeal at all.

I also reckon at least another one, perhaps two, academy lads will join up full time with no intention to play a la Naughton, Wood and Roberts.

Possibly, although they have all played. Not sure who should be next to step up, Probably would have been Conroy and Mellor but they moved up mid season didn't they.

Steve Copeland was Sam Wood's choice for player of year and Jarod Ward won an award also, maybe these two could be next off the production line.

I've heard there might be some....

Though, if it were me working out when to drip some more info into the public domain, I'd wait until the season ticket sales tailed off and then use it to give some impetus...of course, you're then at the mercy of others ruining your big news with spoilers.

I kept reading the Salford forum when the Gaskell rumours were rife, and they were extremely critical of his defence, and particularly his desire to get involved, so him in the centres is a worry.

Re: 2014 Squad : Wed Sep 11, 2013 10:34 am
It all depends who we are signing, if we are getting a big strong centre to replace lulia then our centres with be Blythe and another, with Kear/Foster/George on wings.

If we can keep on adding i can see a top 8 team, we just need to have cover for the inevitable, but we really could do with another prop Nas/Scruton/Sidlow/Carvell/Evans and and extra would do be great, i would be tempted to look at a large youngster instead of a seasoned vet, would still like the look of Busquets and he will at the bite to our pack, just he is french not sure if we have any problems with the language barrier.

Is there a list somewhere with our 2014 squad as it stands?

Edit found it :)

Just wonder to our best 17 looking at the squad? Gaskell has got a few tries from centre dont forget, and Gale played extremely we vs Hudds he may just need to be on the dominant side.

wasnt gaskell mainly playing at fullback for salford though?.Fullbacks always seem to come in for unfair criticism IMO re their defense as if they make a mistake a try usually results and quite often their in two on one situations.

dont forget theres Purtell to include in that mix too and would imagine Sam Wood will get more games next year too.

In the future, I think Kear and wood could make an excellent pairing. For their size they both look strong, they're both fast and have time on their side.
