The biggest problem is that the manufacturers seem to judge designs on what they look like in the shops, and not what they look like from 50 yards. Undoubtedly, the red and amber on the design posted are effectively as good as non-existent at any distance, and it is a shame.

It'll be like cheering on Hull FC.

Naffest kit since 2000 IMO.

The main problem is the commercial imperative which dictates new shirts virtually every season. Like most stuff done in such a 'bulk' manner, getting a 'classic design' is more down to pure luck than anything else. It's certainly a fact that they aren't going to come up something stunning every year, or even very often in truth....when you also add in that they're not going to please everyone anyway, I guess they're pretty much on a hiding to nothing.

Absolutely. The only thing that will stop me buying this shirt is if the quality is poor, I think it looks very smart. I'd like to see the embroidery back though and a weightier feel. Sadly I'm expecting to be disappointed though.

Indeed. I agree about the quality and would prefer some heavier cloth, better stitching plus embroidery - like we used to get before, in fact. That said, it used to be the 'tradition' that manufacturers would give you that higher quality for a couple of years and then, sort of, let it quietly drop off, sadly ISC didn't even start with the well made stuff, so I doubt it's going to happen this time round. Then again, I wouldn't even pretend to know if this is simply a manufacturer thing or if they just deliver the quality the clubs ask for...

In truth, I know I'll buy it anyway, I always do - at least one or the other - just because it's my team's shirt and this year won't be any different, I guess. At the end of the day, they're largely just worn for one year anyway, so wearability [is there such a word?] isn't really a major issue for me when I think about it.

One of you chaps says they stole that image from twitter. Is that the sole evidence we have that is a picture of our new home shirt?

From the outline of that player and from what i hear the model of the new kit is Lee Gaskell!!

Like last years away but red amber and black this year folks

Fairdoos, Gaskell it was, apologies for doubting!

And just for own curiosity, I waded through the dozens or so of Walkers pics on twitter to see if I did get it right. *sigh* I think that was punishment enough

There's a T&A pic which has Omar Khan's, this has now been plastered over by "Belong"
