Briggs was way out his depth, some fans seemed to develop a belief that he was a rough diamond that could of been a SL star if given a chance. I'm not impressed with what Gale is producing but I don't really see why he is the scapegoat in all of this. I suspect fans see a lack of creativity I often pin the blame solely on the halfback without considering the whole picture.
Our forwards aren't getting us on the front foot and teams know if they kick deep and get us playing out of our own 20 we are easily contained. Our wingers are too lightweight to gain metres early in the tackle count and when we do get close to the opposition line if often ends up being a desperate play.
Gale took the line on a bit last night and with some success, unfortunately our support play is also non existent. Anyone who makes a half break is usually on their own.

His kicking out of his hands is hopeless. His last tackle plays, worse. Briggs got half a dozen games, Gale's had 2 1/2 years and was chosen over and above Sammut. Nobody's saying our forwards are helping. They're asking about the coaches call on the number 7 shirt and they're right.
