Whilst I can see your point surely it makes it irrelevant as to whether you finish 4th or 5th. At least this way it keeps more interest as if not both you and Wakey could rest as many players as you wish this coming weekend. Home advantage in the Million £ game is probably one of the things the RFL have got right.
They still might rest a few to be fair. And there will be plenty of other dead rubber matches in the qualifiers this weekend too. I just feel this event should be marketed a bit like a mini GF rather than a regular league game but with more at stake.

My personal take is that it should be more or less as normal, that is anyone less than 100% fit shouldn't play though, for the sake of continuity, I wouldn't make any other changes at this stage, other than bringing back anyone who missed the Leigh game through injury. So, and I'm not sure I can believe I'm typing this, that means leaving Siejka in the side as he played well at Leigh imo and if Gaskell is to play against Wakey then he needs to get some time on the field against Fax.
TBF to Seijka think he had his best game for us at Leigh last week, tackled very well didnt get sucked into to niggles like at the start of the season and his kicking game was very good.
Id rest O'brien though think he has earned a break and maybe clough, sidlow and ferguson, seemed to be limping abit towards the end of the match
Siejka having his best game wasn't a very high bar to jump. But indeed he played OK, especially as part of the defence, and he did pose problems with a couple of neat delayed passes etc which had Leigh guessing. He was ann integral part of the team that won our key game to date so you can't argue with that, and in the absence of Gaskell, a lot of weight was on his shoulders.
Maybe there is after all a half decent player in there somewhere, trying to get out. But we really do need Gaskell back for the big one. In that game I think kicking will be crucial, and there's only Gaskell in the squad who can, our last tackle kicks are not a strength and it took O'Brien to show what a deft flick of the foot can achieve.
Look, first it is just ridiculous, and appears churlish, berating the rules of a comp that everyone knew before it began. But mainly, the advantage isn't "being gained" by a "decision". The home advantage has been EARNED by the 4th placed team, where it should be earned, on the pitch..etc
Eh? Think you have misread my posts there FA, my complaint was entirely about one of the games being moved to the Saturday not the home advantage.
