This. 100% this. I can see us going with 1 half back and 9 backrowers and somewhere down the line ferris will tell us we didn't have the funds for a good enough half...how many forwards have we signed since half way through last season when it was crystal clear we were lacking at 7?

The recruitment for last year, certainly mid year starts to look stranger when you hear that we didn't break even despite saying we would be run like a business. Panic buys?how many players were brought in mid year that in honesty weren't an improvement on what we had

Look at the MPG game! no Clare, Caro or Ryan despite bringing them in around the start of the 8's

I will admit to not knowing the terms of the loaned out players, if we managed to get them off the wage roll in full that doesn't seem as bad, like for like in terms of cost but somehow I think we would have been paying some of the wages for the ones we sent out

Thought Clare should have played in the MPG, and Ryan probably would have done if Jimmy hadn't taken 30 games to realise He had flogged O'brien to death.

The mid season recruits I thought were good.

The signings since have been baffling. All we need is one quality player and that can transform a squad.

But bearing in mind we didn't break even were the mid season buys worth it? Or panic buys to ensure promotion?

I’ve heard that the recruits in the forwards are to address a lack of mongrel that was perceived by the staff last year.

I think some of you guys could be pleasantly surprised by kavanagh. When he came to wakefield last season i felt pretty much the same as some of the comments on here. But he came and put in a good spell for us, nothing fancy but made good metres, very few errors and did not give away penalties or miss many tackles.

I would personally think he would get in your front row ahead of a few names mentioned. When we played you in the 8s i thought it was your front row which was very weak.( ferguson aside, who was very good, although not sure prop is his best position) and failed to get any go forward.

Depends what you are looking for from your props i guess, but i reckon he will go ok for you.

I'm sure as a forward for us in the championship he will go ok, you're right. The issues we (I) have mainly are not with BK, far from it, but with the seemingly hap hazard approach to our signings and squad management, we already have players that can do a similar job to BK but we have no scrum half, and lowes needs to rotate his first 17 more to give our huge set of forwards more chances.
