I don't think we'd have a problem affording him in terms of salary cap space. However i think it would need Green to actually get his chequebook out to fund the signing,rather than just move it out of way to get to the loose change in bottom on petty cash tin he needed to sign Mathers

Brierley has been strongly rumoured to be joining Leeds next year for ages so expect if he does leave Leigh, he'll only be going elsewhere on a 1yr deal, as I doubt Leeds have cap space left to take him early. He'd have been a decent option for us as a FB before we signed Mathers. With Mcnallys long injury most Leigh fans seemed to have him pencilled in for that role until Mcnally returns. Not sure how Leigh will cover FB if Brierley does leave.

Not surehe'd actually work that well for us in combination with Gaskell as think their both similar style off the cuff type players. WE're screaming out for a more organising style of HB to complement Gaskell. Jacks looks like he might be that type but time will tell.

After watching him last year, I actually think Ryan would make a much better 6 than a 7. He reminds me a lot of how Danny McGuire was when he first broke into the Leeds side - plenty of pace, great support play, but not the sort of player who would create opportunities for others.

Jonny Pownall has played plenty of fullback for them. I assume he'll play there until McNally is back if Brierley does go.

Let's put it this way Roger, there will be some good songs sang to Derek when we play Leigh ! Maybe like when Leeds play Huddersfield to Brett Ferres ?
