This Tasker character that has suddenly apeared clearly has a major Green chip on his shoulder, and it's bloody tedious.
Yes yes we all get it the buck stops at the top etc etc but that does NOT mean the problems are Green's FAULT.
He was no rugby man and had to heavily rely on others including Ferres and we are none of us happy with what that produced but as a businessman Green has been a breath of fresh air, and has slowly won I think the respect of most. As I've said many times, it seems plain to me he's also bankrolled the club, even though he has always been frank saying that he wouldn't be doing that. So I give him credit for all that.
He has been let down as much as we have, by a complicated mixture of coaching players and bad luck too, but without him we'd have been dead as a dodo anyway, instead we came within one kick of being back in SL. Let no-one forget that, whatever mistakes were made.
Anyone with half a brain would plainly know that after Sunday, we are now in the financial mire, and that is no revelation but stating the fookin obvious. Sure if we can remain the right side of solvent there may be a way to rebuild some passable top-half Championship side from the wreckage but CAN we, (my straw poll suggests ticket sales Aramgeddon), and does Green actually WANT to run a part-time struggling also-ran? I doubt it. I don't want to watch one.
So you could easily see and understand why he may feel the time is right to pull the plug. I wouldn't blame him. In charge he may have been, but he has been badly let down as have we all, yet I can't see any reason at all to say Green himself has let anybody down. On the contrary, he has done a helluva lot more than I for one was expecting.
But in short while some always have a way of looking on the bright side, I can't actually see a way out of the hole we have dug, and I'm sorry to say that. Well, there would be, but it would need a RL version of a mini-Abramovich to fund it, and that ain't gonna happen.
