Think I would rather have had the billionaire or multi-millionaire!
If the guy had just the £1 billion and was making 5% on it then he'd be making £1m a week from his money, quite apart from his normal weekly pay which I should imagine isn't too bad even these days for Texan oil billionaires.
If a man making that sort of money won't even put in a winning bid representing maybe a few hours' worth of interest income, how does that work? To him, he could - you'd have thought - have bought it with his loose change.
If he had come in and spent just 1/10th of one percent of his first billion on our squad we would be cooking on gas. Another 1/10th and we could sign both SBs. An owner who would spit on excess expenditure over income as a mere irrelevance. Either it was all bollox, or he really wasn't that interested. Shame. Would have been nice to be the richest rugby league club on the planet for a bit.
"There is no hiding from the fact that this won’t be easy, but we are committed to delivering a squad and ultimately a club that our fans can be proud of again.”

There's no hiding from the fact that it IS actually pretty easy, as long as you have someone who's able and willing to throw a load of money at it with no hope of seeing any of it again.
Anyone got the number of any Texan oil billionaires that might be interested, for Steve?
I think that something has to be said, unless, of course, I have missed it in all the p!$$ing contests between the usual protagonists and our regular visitors. If so, then sorry.
My thoughts is that if this goes wrong and we end up in the same position in a years time then we need to ask questions of the administrator for accepting a bid that most of us have potential doubts about and the RFL for ratifying a bid that most of us have potential doubts about.
Normally it would be good practice to trust the third partys' that are involved but it appears to me that the RFL have not exactly covered themselves in glory in this entire process.
YES, it is our own fault for getting into this mess in the first place, NO, I am not trying to deflect blame away from the club.
However, I reckon most of us would have preferred the big bucks potentially on offer from Mr(s) Koukash and we had a chance of getting in the oft mentioned sugar daddy/mummy that we need, and I find it odd that the bid appeared to be discounted so quickly.
I know nothing at all about Mr Green so I am not going to make comments on him at this stage and I do hope that he is gonna be the answer to our prayers. It is just that we require a major facelift at the moment, not minor cosmetic surgery.
