I said it before and I'll say it again... This is a new club. The previous history is gone, so has the honours. It all started from scratch for me and therefore I would rather go by this than expectations of the past.
Anyone who has started a new business will know that it just doesn't go smoothly to start with. Not in the first 12-24months. It will take 3-4yrs for it to bed down so when I hear folk talking about SL in 2yrs I take it with a pinch of salt.
Except it's not
totally new, in as much as a fair number of the people doing the 'hands on', actual rugby and office side, are the same, more or less, as before. What has changed is the owner of the business. As far as the rugby is concerned, whilst it isn't completely either of the two, it's as much a 'take over' as it is a 'brand new business', imo.
Up to last season, the club was regarded as having been founded in 1863. Regardless of the legalities, if that didn't change in 1907 and 1963 and with the more recent screw ups, I'm far from sure it changed last year either.
