So is it the Leo bid that has been rejected or the Chalmers bid? (I'm assuming they are different bids?)

Would be stupid of him, as you mentioned that would mean liquidation and he gets nowt.
But he appointed GP with one clear outcome, he gets back as much as possible.
He isn't going to be allowed to regain control of the club, and no one is willing to pay him X amount so right now I'd say he is trying to force the hand of prospective bidders; pay me off or youre going to have to start from scratch, with the potential problems that come with that, i.e. Potentially Less season tickets, loss of players etc .
That would be a sizeable hole in the finances which could force someone's hand to pay MG back what (or close to) the sum he wants.

What has been so baffling about this Admin is that none of our saleable assets (players) have been moved on.

Well given we've heard nothing on the bidder or their potential plans, I'm all ears to how you've come to that assumption? Unless you've just returned to stir some poop? I'd say the latter is most likely on previous form.
