I thought there were 2 pertinent things said:



Firstly, Leon saying that the situation in the least few weeks of the players being last to know stuff after the media and the fans hasn't been acceptable.



Secondly, Lowe referencing that there is a heck of a lot to do, it's been back to back meetings since he landed, and there is stuff that the new owners cannot yet talk about in the media.



On the first of these, the playing squad needs sorting away from the glare of publicity, and that is more important than our right to know as fans. And on the second, I assume that it refers to Odsal and the complexity of any deal that is being done, but regardless there's clearly a lot going on behind the scenes, and if there's stuff that can't be talked about then we have to take Lowe on his word that it can't be talked about.



Everyone from the administrator to the players to the owners though seems to be of one opinion that the speculation isn't helping.



Personally I have yet to hear anything that has got me either suddenly hopeful or suddenly concerned. This is going to take months to play out and we'll probably all be a lot happier if we do everything we can to reserve judgement as much as possible, support the club and support the players...

So why attempt to play a friendly on Sunday?

Am I the only one thinking we'll find out who we've signed when they run out of the tunnel on Sunday?

Talked about supporters knowing there stuff and yo u can't fob them off and also protecting RL in the city. I found that encouraging.

When Nobby took over after the disastrous Millward period, Wigan were in freefall and looked certs to be relegated. He kept them up and in his last season they failed to make the Grand Final by millimetres, the distance by which they were tackled short of what would have been the winning try. Saints' luck had held, as always.



I'd have Nobby back in a heartbeat but it ain't gonna happen.

Oh yes I seem to recall something about that. Wasn't that the season when wigan managed to squeeze the world's most expensive prop into their salary cap midseason and Kris Radlinski returned to play for nothing? Worked out well for Bradford that. We lost Nobby, Fielden and that was the start of the Mcnamara era. It all started going down hill from there...

I guess we won't be getting drip fed news from these guys, in fairness it might be best if we sit tight and let them get on with it.

If it's an actual press conference on Friday and not just a statement being put out, then maybe they'll announce the player signings in one huge bunch then (in addition to the coach etc.).

Anyone else see the position with Chisholm strange? He doesn't seem to be jumping on a plane to come back and meet new owners but if he has signed for someone else, with 2 weeks to start of season you would have thought they would have wanted him back asap. I hope we get good news on him but I can't see it

I would imagine because the club will be paid to do so-given that the new regime have no season ticket money, no merchandise money and outgoings for staff and to restock offices/shop etc to find they would welcome the cash!

To be fair in the worst case scenario, if Chisholm doesn't come back for whatever reason, Keyes is not a bad replacement. We could do much worse! Plus he kicks!

Struggle to understand how that wasn't decided at a bidding stage let alone on the 4 day long plane journey to the UK...

Could it be they didnt want Rohan from the start?, so didn't make clear the plans going forward. If rumours are correct our new coach is from NZ,he wouldn't fly to UK without knowing the plan.

This crossed my mind. They want to build there own team around them.

If they announce a new coach tomorrow then this [ihas[/i to have been the case. There has been no application process for the vacant coaching position, clearly they already had someone lined up.

The way Rohan keeps mentioning what was best for his family makes me think it was largely a salary dispute, but who knows. The bit about part time / full time still makes me slightly anxious.

I expect there will be a mix of part and full time.

What they coming in a balloon ?

If they make an announcement for the new coach Friday it was lined up last Friday or at the planning stage.

Nobody could drop their life and get to UK in 24hrs without prior notice.
