There aren't any big name props out of contract and don't think we're going to be paying transfer fees when it looks unlikely we'll even spend upto salary cap.

With only 2k season tickets sold I don't see how we CAN spend up to the cap.

Foster must be one of the most naturally dislikeable players out there, I just want to give him a good slapping every time I see him. But sadly I think there is the makings of a decent winger, he is filling out physically to be a big lad, he's got a bit of pace & knows his way to the line. He's also a fantastic kicker. He will definitely make a lower SL 3/4 in my view. Whereas Ainsough has bags of enthusiasm & little else, I'm afraid.

It isn't a lot but it's early days yet, though let's be honest, we were never going to get 10K again without the 'pledge' prices and I suspect - no, expect - the new owners would have realised that.

In any case, in the final analysis if the people who don't, for whatever reason, buy a season ticket, actually pay up on the gate week by week, the income will actually be greater so spending on players shouldn't be affected. Obviously it does put a bit of pressure on to perform well and keep fans interested but I'm ever hopeful in that department. FWIW I reckon we'll probably drop back to the pre pledge numbers of ST sales, which if I remember correctly were around the 5K mark or maybe a little under.

Problem with that scenario is that this years salary cap spend is likely to be based on income generated from season ticket sales. So it will affect recruitment. Next year, once new owners have an idea of income levels from walk up support, it probably won't affect recruitment. Problem is if we have a bad year on the field next year and walk up isn't good which in turn affects next years cap spend. Then downward spiral starts again.

Not really convinced by Foster. Excellent goal kicker and great finisher close to the line, but he doesn't work hard enough for me, doesn't take the ball in enough. Prefer Ainscough & Kear.

Find this post curious TBH. I find it hard to see where we should be turning our nose up at Foster. Especially given Kear's fitness record last season.
