Excellent. I really hope that this one comes off.
I've had quite a bit of dealing with Gerry Sutcliffe and he has always struck me as someone who gets stuff done.

You really cant blame people for poo-pooing the council, those who live in Bradford have had to put up with the debacle of a town centre for a good number of years and the "on/off" development of Odsal for 30 ish years.

I just wonder if the 2012 completion date has been plucked out of the air as this would be the completion date you would need to put on your Superleague application form in 2011.

I really do hope that the Council get their acts together and deliver their promise for once.

But as a Halifax supporter I know only too well what its like to be promissed dates by the Council.

Here here Snapper.

Everyone knows the history of this thing but let's get behind it and contact our political representatives and push them. If it happens it could really revitalise the whole south side of the city, provide jobs in an economic downturn and give the Bulls a fantastic new stadium.

Come on Bradford Council.

A firm of specialists has been hired and told to produce a project plan by March at the latest, outlining the cost, timescale and make-up of the scheme

What, another one?

I thought we already had a make-up and costings? And timescale is timescale - surely however long it takes to build is in the spec?

The amount of money peed down the Odsal pot on consultants for a litany of pie-in-the-sky schemes would probably be enough to pay for the entire 2012 Olympics. this sounds like it isn't even on the drawing board yet, which is not what we had been led to believe.

So here we go. Report No, 7,262.

Great.

If these things were as easy as you seem to believe I wouldn't be living the lifestyle to which I am accustomed.

Let's hope we don't have those To$$ers from Keighley coming on and moaning that it's unfair. If they need funding they could sell Keighley for rubbish tipping.

I stopped reading after

"Council chiefs today pledged that the creation of the Odsal Sporting Village was now a top priority. "

Gerry Sutcliffe is the main reason nothing will happen, he can't be seen favouring his own constituancy!

I was about 5 years old when I first heard talk of developing Odsal, I am now 38 and still visit the same Odsal, so forgive me for saying I will believe this when I see it!!

To build up the tension they should transport the pile of rubble that was on Broadway for a couple of years up to Odsal.

Great idea, I wonder what they have done with that?

I also think a few people might be surprised by the level of opposition to this use of public money from the non Bulls supporting people in the city, there's a hell of a long way to go.
