My main memory of Jimmy Lowes's short coaching career at Wire was offering Wakey fans out for a fight after the game and then choosing to spend the second half sitting down in the stand (to be fair, he was copping some stick, but once people knew he was biting it became nonstop). I don't know if that's the fight you meant. At that point, I think Wire were just about at the bottom of the table but went onto win the cup when Tony Smith was appointed shortly after.

You lot have a history of crowd violence as seen on TV.

Still this proves he is a good judge of character as on the whole wakefield fans are complete dickheads.

Good luck to James Lowes.

I understand some are unconvinced but how many times did we hear extraordinary eulogies about the qualities of McNamara and Cummins. Both started OK but their sides came to resemble them as players - talked a great game but fundamentally, soft. Not quite big enough, not quite hard enough.

James Lowes has genuine passion - not phoney, management speak, 1994 Australian coaching manual bu!!poop. He will immediately see what Potter saw when he arrived having been drummed out of Saints.

We are soft as poop.

After watching us play a against his Dewsbury team in the CC this season I'm surprised you've not gone for Glenn Morrison (presuming you haven't). They looked really well coached. They played good, aggressive rugby league and looked very well structured. He seems to have been able to get the best out of his players and looks a really promising up and coming coach.

He'd have been an ideal fit IMO. A guy who has a point to prove and who could build you back up from the bottom. His knowledge of the leagues and players below superleague could be invaluable to.

Some players you know will go into coaching, others you think never in a million years. Lowes is closer to the latter, but I re-assure myself that enough teams have given him a chance that there must be something in there.

TRUE. Agar was 'best' at it of late but who was better, make that worse, than Jon Sharp? But he's now boss of the refs isn't he?

Rumours on the Internet are suggesting Jimmy has been given a 6 year contract. I would be amazed if true!
