To be honest where not that far off beign a top of the table team again, we just need some quality in the backs, a centre and Stand-Off.
Ben Jeffries is too inconsistant, i would rather have Jamie Rooney than Jeffries but then again Rooney is nowhere near McGuire or Pryce.
I think we are going to have to use some money and buy players for 09.

So then, according to you we are not "far off" being a top of the table team again except....

1. We need some quality in the backs, centres and stand off positions?
2. Jeffries is inconsistent.
3. We are gonna have to buy players for 2009.

So, pretty much the we are an entire quality back row away from being a top of the table side in 2009?

You need more decent props. Lynch, Feather, Burgess and a geriatric Vagana plus green James and Kopczak isn't a patch on the awesome foursome of old. Especially if Burgess is used at 13.

When (if) Buderus sees out his Leeds contract he will still be younger than Menzies is now.

I don't recall seeing Menzies name in the preliminary Australian side for the WC either...

I wouldn't. He's been more consistent when paired with Deacon than with your namesake (minus the 6's)
