Well played guys, real gutsy effort, especially with lack of experience on bench and lack of props. Good move by Cummins to move Arundel to left side in 2nd half, strengthened defense on that side. After the Easter weekend, I said Cummins should go, given the fight shown in last 2 weeks, not as sure now, well done to him and the coaching team. Thought Mellor looked really promising, reminded me of JP in build and running style. Spoilt a little by Wakefield winning! Can't see Scruton coming back to us, they wouldn't want to strengthen their main competitor for the 2nd relegation slot!
Maybe not but it would be great if he did to unsettle Wakey
Fantastic effort. There was no way in the world we should have won that game. Three loaners, two who have not played yet, one who only arrived on Thursday, a bench full of academy boys, injuries to key players through the game, only two recognised props. I thought anything less than a 30 point loss would be ok, so I apologise. Effort, determination and a will to never give in and to keep fighting were all there today. It was the best game of the season by a long shot and a different team from the last one I watched. Since the hammering at Wigan, there seems to be a different attitude about the team. Long may it continue.
A pity about Wakefield, but we just have to concentrate on playing like that, week after week. And we are not bottom anymore!
Not much to say really, but that was awesome. The last twenty was a real nailbiter. Bugger Wakefield. Getting in to non negative points under our own steam, and against a top team, is a huge difference from where we we were this time last week.
Another MASSIVE result after last weeks game against the Dragons. Total commitment and self-belief from 1-17 today. The confidence in the side must be growing. Diskin's ball steal inside our own 10 was the crucial play for me. Warrington didn't deserve to take anything away from that game. We over enthused them in every department. What a game!
Superb game. Not celebrated like that in along time. I think the Wigan result and Ferres comments have done wonders. Like Diskin says, they have stopped playing victim card and rolled their sleeves up and ripped in.
Who cares about Wakefield, result. We're now on zero points. Lets go for saints. Nothing to lose, today's proved if you want to win enough, you can beat anyone.
Well played, especially the younger players, Bates and Mellor.
Another one where you just had to be there. Can anyone tell me if the professional fould jas been abolished, as with 10 to go, there has never been a more blatant one in the history of world sport, and so if he didn't walk, it must have gone.
No team playing with that level of committment and desire would lose by 80 at Wigan or anywhere. All I want to see is that. Mind you, with 10 to go I said to the bloke next to me, it would be a crying shame if we didn't end up getting anything out of the game. Which it would have been. I wanted Foster's kick at goal to miss from our penultimate try. If it had gone in we would have probably changed our style completely, tried to close out the draw, and lost to a Bridge DG. As it was, we just had to, and di, keep doing what we had been doing and thoroughly deserved the win.
Jaufusi really did run it in well, we needed that too, and what I think made a big difference in the last quarter was Addy and Gale runnng across the defence and switching the play. This did something we don't do enough, created doubt in the defence, and that can create gaps. Another good performance by Gale, Gaskell top game and a mention for Foster.
Wakefield's results should be blanked from our minds, we only need to concentrate on our own results, and that one was a huge bonus.
