I'd say running out of pies or lager mid way through the last match is better business wise than having a surplus you can't sell.
Money is clearly tight and waste costs more than lost revenue at this stage of the season.
I would agree, if it was just the last match. But certainly I've been hearing people moaning about them running out of different bits for at least the last couple of months (not the beer though).
I'd suggest that hot food was a, 'unique daily event', in all cases where the vendor only traded weekly, not just the last game. Fair enough, in some circumstances they could, if people were prepred to wait, do it to order, but once heated it has to be sold - I mean, they can hardly stick it back in the fridge, even until next week. Even unheated pies have a very limited shelf life.
