I don't think my feeling is that I'm letting the club down, largely because it's the club's own doing (in it's current form). I do however feel disappointed that I'm not going to see so many games this year, especially after having had a season ticket for what I think is 16 straight years (would have been longer had I not worked shifts previous to that). But I've just come to a point where I've had enough and need to do something about it. Acting with my feet so to speak, is my choice of action.
My biggest fear is that by getting out of the habit of going to Odsal every other weekend, I'm going to find something else to do with my time. And then when it comes round to me no longer feeling like they're trying to rip me off, I'm just not going to be as interested any more. It's an even bigger fear for me that others will find the same thing happens to them, and fans are effectively lost for good.
Sadly - in 2007, my mate and myself had a meeting with Peter Hood to discuss this exact issue - and at the time we had dipped below 10,000 average so I was worried
After an hour trying to get the point across, he showed us a CGI of the completed Odsal Sports Villlage because when it happened - the crowds would come back..
11 years on - they want to sell 3000 tickets and only manage 1200 - and as you say - people find another way to spend free time and its a hell of job to get them back - if you ever do!
The above laughter is manic of course..
