to be brutally honest the sheer lack of effort on hapes part last season left a bad taste. whilst he'll always be remembered for 2003-2007, last season tarnished his record in my eyes and if saints want to take a risk on him there welcome.
I happened upon Mr Hape himself this morning in Bath and he very nicely responded to my query. (no I havn't been lurking). I told him there was a thread on the ERE message board (to which he said "What's that") with a rumour that he was thinking of moving back to rugby league. I explained that there was some discussion about this likelihood, as we thought he was doing a good job and had put in some good improving performances although, as he said himself, he is still learning. He was extremely open and clear about his response.
He has specifically asked me to let you all know that he loves Steve Meehan (!!) he loves Bath supporters and that he would not have moved his family down here for 3 years if he was going to go back to League. So we can hit that one dead in the water! He also indicated that they couldn't afford him! He has had the dreaded stomach lurgy this week so has not been training and thus not fit for selection. P.S. What a nice courteous bright lad!
