I have no idea about the rumours mentioned about Koukash moving/merging but there are a couple of obstacles that haven't been mentioned.
It is at least another 3 years before he has a break clause in the lease at the AJ Bell and he currently owes Salford Council over £1m, which they have been quietly allowing him to defer payment on for the last 4 years.
I can only guess that if he moves out of the city, they will actively be seeking alot of money.
Interesting. Can't see the Gateshull/Shuddersfield conspiracy happening then.

Sale Sharks are reportedly willing to pay a percentage of the break clause as they are pushing more and more for sole tenancy.

Reportedly where? SS pay rent to the Stadium Management Company, just like Salford. The bars, food and other events at the stadium are also run by the SMC so what benefit would they get in having the place to themselves?
SS all ready have the naming rights, the lease on the shop, have their own training ground in Carrington so in effect only pay to use the stadium on match days. Salford being there makes no difference to them, so why would they pay to help them move?
On a separate note the SMC has just reported a loss of £1 million for the last year, so even if SS were hoping to buy the stadium outright why would they want a tennant who pays over £300k a year, does not impact them, to leave?
Its all gone a little conspiracy crazy on here. I genuinely don't really believe any of it, as with the application of Occam's razor we are where we are because:
* The people who got the club at the start of the season were the RFLs preferred bidders
* The People who got the club at the start of the season were the only viable bidders who were willing to fulfil the RFLs ridiculous pre-requisites
* Would any multimillionaire set up someone else to buy a club when he could have just got his wife to front it instead
* If any millionaire HAD secretly bought the club, I'm sure we wouldn't be where we are now. What good is another season wasted in an even lower league; where is the return on that? would it be worth crippling the support for some great plan?
* Magically returning the Bulls to Superleague in some great restructuring in 2 years time would cause uproar, and result in many supporters from other teams turning their back on the game in disgust. Despite everyone knowing we are the RFLs favourites.
* I can't see moving a club from Manchester/Salford to somewhere else would get the RFLs permission. They should be trying to get the game more popular IN Manchester, not walk away from it....
* The talk about a new stadium, while nice, hasn't been mentioned by anyone of note; including the RFL, Bradford Bulls, Bradford Council or certain racehorse owners, meaning that it either isn't true or it's not going to happen in the next few years. Bradford council will have to replace Dunnie swimming facilities eventually, but there would be uproar in Bradford if they go all in with the Bulls with our financial record. And this stuff takes years to hammer out as well.
* This is the RFL. Their incompetent ineptitude astonishes still. They have sat around and watched the sport wither and die, both in participation and attendances. Lower league clubs are in huge financial difficulties, they constantly blow the chance to make the game more popular, they gave away sponsorship to a truck company for free, they sold the TV rights to a company without bartering them up (and by doing this actually reduced the amount of games people can watch!) they make up and change rules to the competition as they see fit. Do you think they are capable of such a magnificent, Machiavellian scheme? Honestly?
Its like the Paul McCartneys dead story. Why would you go to such lengths to cover up his death (including plastic surgery for the replacement, police bribery, etc) just to try and break the news over the following years with cryptic clues on your albums. We are where we are for a number of reasons, but it is for more realistic, and dull, reasons than I have read in this thread.
Of course, I may be wrong. But none of this seems likely with our luck
