With regards to the team, I'd imagine that we'd see a sharp down turn in u21 players coming through the ranks as I'd think the majority of the cap would be geared towards the first team (way to go there RFL, another brilliant idea to increase the player pool)

As I understand it, and assuming it continues in the same vein, the cap only applies to the first team, and of those, only your 25 top earners actually count towards it.

What you pay the non-first team squad players or any other staff, is up to you, presumably so long as it isn't more than you're paying the first team... So, assuming we have enough income, there's no reason we can't offer a half decent package to the ex academy lads as they graduate. What we won't be able to offer, unfortunately, is the chance of top level rugby.

Do you lot agree with Mr Green's decision to take it to court or do you feel the club should accept it?

Depends on what 'evidence' they have. If Mr Green can get, say Ryan Whitcut, to stand up in court and state that the RFL suggested that Moore and co. go into admin to, "get rid of Omar", as he's already said in public and has been reported as saying in the press, then yes, they should go to court. I can't think of a single reason why not.

If Green is really intent on taking this as high as he can, can anyone else see this being all neatly wrapped up by season end in September?

There'd be no chance. It would me more likely any High Court hearing would be next year. Maybe they could apply for a temporary injunction to stop the points being deducted pending the Court's ruling.

A visit to the High Court is an expensive route to take, and a drawn out one. But if we end the season more than 6 points away from safety apart from a possible arena for airing dirty washing and enriching our legal friends not clear how even winning the case would actually help us?

Re: Marc Green statement : Fri Jun 20, 2014 9:02 am
Before making any judgement I would think Marc Green will want the "full" written explanation promised by the Appeals tribunal. I'd hope that will be a public document. He seems a determined character but not one to risk a large amount of money on legal fees-- the 5k he says he's spent so far would be insignificant compared to a High Court case.
The panel took 2 days to decide the Bulls had not "passed the qualifying threshold" which I take to mean that much of the evidence was not heard or tested and the terms of reference were pretty restrictive.
I don't think it's just Bulls fans who would like to know what really happened and what all the parties ( individually and collectively) actually did and said at the time.
Some posters are convinced their particular version is the absolute truth. Anyone who does not accept that Bulls mismanagement up to December 2013 was the primary cause is IMO , deluding themselves. However , I don't know who to believe and where the blame lies in relation to the events leading up to the deduction.

It's the usual way of avoiding the truth coming out.
