In general I'd agree with that but, as mentioned higher up the thread, we have two players coming into the squad, Lauaki and Ferguson neither of whom have played recently and are, presumably, not going to be fully match fit. As potentially they may be required to play big minutes in the game it may be a risk too far. Just glad I'm not coach!

Well we have Fleming, Ferguson and Lauaki all in that position - we can't leave them all out!

out of players in 19 only way we can avoid taking a risk with two players not fully match fit is naming conroy on bench plus one of not 100% players. is contribution one of those less than 100% players going to make in a short spell going to have more or less impact than conroy coming on to give Obrien, whos shown he can play full 80 comfortably, a breather?. its not like were going to expect any of ferguson,lauaki or fleming to play full 80. whoever gets picked isn't going to be doing long minutes.

Has Conroy ever played at half back/can he play at half back? I was just thinking that if he could and is better at it than Mullaney, it might cause less disruption to the team. Seems pointless him being in the squad as we haven't named a spare hooker in either the Leigh or Whitehaven squads so far.

Mullaney could stay at full back where he is settling nicely and Conroy could fill in at half back. We look to have a massive pack for this game and a player whose natural position is hooker might be able to work well off the back of the blockbusting runs I'm hoping to see.

Shaw or Ulugia could then simply slot into Williams wing spot.

Just a thought anyway. I have no idea how good Mullaney is as a half back.
