Do you actually know though? Have you witnessed or seen or have documents which back up what you know? If you do and you know then you will be able without fear of legal repercussions to put this information into the public domain. Or is it that what you know is a strong rumour from a reliable source. The only thing I know about this is that it is a silly mess (opinion) that for some reason is being played out in the media (fact).

I think most people on here know where I get a bit of info from and I tend to believe him

So it's rumour then. Not saying it isn't correct, it may well be, but you don't actually know.

Because that would be an illegal approach. He isn't allowed to contact or 'have a word' with Brierley or his agent about any sort of move before the May deadline. Any approach would have to go through the Leigh club first. Now I am not saying that is what happened but in your own words "I think it's starting to look pretty obvious what has happened."

Apart from the complete denial from the Bulls that this has happened. And the denial from RB himself involving the Bulls.

In fact there's only one person who dragged the Bulls name into the whole sordid/hillarious mess......

I was just responding to the Drust post. He said it was pretty obvious what had happened and then went on to describe what would be an illegal approach by Bradford.

Leigh were dealing with all of this internally from Monday up to Thursday night until somebody (presumably RB or his agent) went to the press about it and it got announced live on Sky Sports. At which point all hell broke loose between the Leigh fans and an announcement had to be made by the club in response.

Whoever you believe the constant to and fro in the public eye doesn't reflect well on either side. There are ways of dealing with issues like this and giving a running commentary in the media isn't it.

it's never appropriate to discuss details of individual disputes in public. It doesn't happen in the "normal" workplace and shouldn't happen in RL either.

The latest comment by Jukes where he went on about Jeremy Kyle and the lie detector was ridiculous.

How do you know it's wasn't Derek who leaked the news to Sky, anything is possible with him. He could be trying to make Brierley out to be the bad guy

Why presume that? Surely that is not a fair comment

Waiting for an announcement...

Re: Illegal approach? : Mon Mar 07, 2016 2:39 pm
todays t&a

"The RFL are watching developments with interest and Bulls managing director Steve Ferres said Bradford would only look to explore the possibility of signing Brierley if the player exercised any such release clause in his contract and became a free agent."

No direct quotes, but Ross has clearly spoken to someone from the Bulls side and possibly the rfl. As has been said, the Bulls need to do everything above board if we are interested. And as one of the best halfs in the league might be available on 1st April, we should be interested.

If we've not been involved, and done nothing wrong, its right for the club to say nothing - why should they? They should avoid getting involved in the Leigh circus as much as possible. (I particularly liked the part of Leigh's statement that said it was upset about confidential info being leaked, only to then in the next paragraph detail the £15k extra that Ryan allegedly demanded, presumably in private if at all  )

Problem is now, whichever club signs him in April (and someone will - hes too good to sit out the season waiting for his Leeds 2017 contract to start), for however long a contract, DB and everyone at Leigh will cry foul against that club - especially if its Bradford, even if we've genuinely had nothing to do with the situation up to now. I'd almost recommend whichever club tries to sign him gets the RFL to confirm his availability first.
