Its all gone a little conspiracy crazy on here. I genuinely don't really believe any of it, as with the application of Occam's razor we are where we are because:
* The people who got the club at the start of the season were the RFLs preferred bidders
* The People who got the club at the start of the season were the only viable bidders who were willing to fulfil the RFLs ridiculous pre-requisites
* Would any multimillionaire set up someone else to buy a club when he could have just got his wife to front it instead
* If any millionaire HAD secretly bought the club, I'm sure we wouldn't be where we are now. What good is another season wasted in an even lower league; where is the return on that? would it be worth crippling the support for some great plan?
* Magically returning the Bulls to Superleague in some great restructuring in 2 years time would cause uproar, and result in many supporters from other teams turning their back on the game in disgust. Despite everyone knowing we are the RFLs favourites.
* I can't see moving a club from Manchester/Salford to somewhere else would get the RFLs permission. They should be trying to get the game more popular IN Manchester, not walk away from it....
* The talk about a new stadium, while nice, hasn't been mentioned by anyone of note; including the RFL, Bradford Bulls, Bradford Council or certain racehorse owners, meaning that it either isn't true or it's not going to happen in the next few years. Bradford council will have to replace Dunnie swimming facilities eventually, but there would be uproar in Bradford if they go all in with the Bulls with our financial record. And this stuff takes years to hammer out as well.
* This is the RFL. Their incompetent ineptitude astonishes still. They have sat around and watched the sport wither and die, both in participation and attendances. Lower league clubs are in huge financial difficulties, they constantly blow the chance to make the game more popular, they gave away sponsorship to a truck company for free, they sold the TV rights to a company without bartering them up (and by doing this actually reduced the amount of games people can watch!) they make up and change rules to the competition as they see fit. Do you think they are capable of such a magnificent, Machiavellian scheme? Honestly?
Its like the Paul McCartneys dead story. Why would you go to such lengths to cover up his death (including plastic surgery for the replacement, police bribery, etc) just to try and break the news over the following years with cryptic clues on your albums. We are where we are for a number of reasons, but it is for more realistic, and dull, reasons than I have read in this thread.
Of course, I may be wrong. But none of this seems likely with our luck
Bloody spoilsport!
I was contemplating the possibility that maybe, just maybe, one of the kites being flown might have had wings and might even have been related to Icarus. I'll dream on.....

Indeed. The mystery remains, though, as to why, from our new owners' point of view, they would be willing to do so. We've watched them all season, and had seen a total collapse of playing standards, and a relegation so rapid, it will surely never be repeated.
I still think relegation wasn't inevitable, but we sat on our hands, and paid the heavy price. This price was obvious. Why would the new owners so meekly resign s and themselves to this miserable fate/
This I still do not get.

No.

Exactly.

I think most would now agree that after we committed hari kari, our new version was absolutely stuffed by the RFL. But yes, it would be impossible to parachute a Bulls team into SL, for the reasons you state, and also because you might as well parachute an Under-12s team in.

I'm sure something is afoot, I've heard almost the same thing from 3 separate independent sources now, but yes, it would take years for anything to actually happen, and not a penny of the something comes to Bulls or pays for even a pair of boots.

I'm sure that in doing what they did with ChaLow they must have had their own reasons. Fscked if I know what those reasons were.
Would have loved to be a fly on the RFL boardroom wall on whatever day the topic of the Bulls' relegation came up.

I think maybe something on the lines of
Nigel Wood "Well, Swinton are rocking lets expand the championship, if we keep my future bulls, erm I mean the bulls in an extended championship it wont be at the expense of anyone and everyone will be happy!"
Ralph Rimmer "Sod it Nigel lets go for a pint"
NW "Come on Ralph less of the beer talk we need to sort this I've got championship chairmen breathing down my neck telling me how much revenue they will lose out on we need them in the championship"
RR "Lets talk closer to the time, lets go to pub now for a pint"
NW "Ralph theres business to attend to! And what about the summer bash! KR will go up! if bulls go down there will be 1000 topside over the whole weekend and we wont get any money whatsoever!"
RR "Mmm summer bash love a beer in Blackers! Look Nigel we going for a pint or what?"
NW "Ralph is that all you think about!!!"
RR "Tell you what Nigel, you dont want a pint I dont want the Bulls! F*ck them send them down"
