im a hull fan and i think you need to have a good clearout, get rid of the average players and build around the quality you have,it only takes a couple of players to get into the comfort zone and takes effect on the rest of them.

(Given the implied allegation against other un-named posters on here, I thought it best to clear that up. Sorry Bullsonfire, I'll leave it at that now).

OK Adey - sorry, my apologies. Thanks for this reply - probably kinder than I may deserve at times! :)

We went a way to doing that last year.

I think over the next couple of season as the youngsters develop we will see more of the average ones leave. Hopefully Sheriffe and Worrincy will leave after this season (unless they up their games a hell of a lot) and then Sculthorpe the year after when the Burgess twins are ready. I also hope that Sykes is only given another one year contract for cover if he is extended further than this year.

As cover. He's home-grown and can't be too expensive. I'd hope he wouldn't be getting a regular spot though.

I'm worried now. I mean, up till now I thought it was all rubbish, and ME was just off on one of his trumping exhibitions, yet the culprit has so obviously completely altered whatever the above post was, that even a myopic bat could see it has been tampered with.

What is going on?

sheriffe has alreay shown a pretty significant improvement over last year I feel. He's been one of our better players last 2 games although I know that isnt saying a lot. If he could just improve his catching skills a bit, but as long as continues to improve he could go alright. Tend to agree about worrincy though.
starting to doubt we'll ever actually see sculthorpe in a bulls shirt tbh. sykes is good cover but not a starter for mine , and counts as homegrown, but only if he's prepared to accept a cheap deal and as his next contract could well be his last I suspect he'll go to whoever offers most money/longest deal.

plus nero will be getting on a bit at end of season. 2 centres have to priority for signings next year for me, irrespective of how crookes goes this year.

Sheriffe certainly showed he is out for a big season. He has improved no end in defence and attack and I hope it continues. Well done for the effort Rikki.

If it were a choice between Sykes and Nero then I'd opt for Sykes every time. His versatility is a valuable asset, not to mention he's a better centre than Nero aswell. Sykes can be very good on his day because he's got pace, strength, agility and he can tackle too. He's also a pretty smart player when he thinks, just wish he'd think a bit more and faster on occasions.
