MANAGING director Steve Ferres has expressed an apology following yesterday's defeat at the hands of Super League champions Wigan Warriors.
Ferres, who was appointed last month following the club's takeover, has moved to thank supporters for their continual backing.
In a statement, he said: “On behalf of Bradford Bulls, I would like to apologise for what was a truly woeful and embarrassing display, yesterday, against Wigan Warriors.
“It was, without any doubt, the worst performance I have seen by a Super League side – and one of the worst I have ever seen.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters who gave up a bank holiday, despite the busy Easter Weekend traffic, and made the strenuous journey over the Pennines.
“Our loyal supporters stuck with the team throughout the course of what was a tortuous 80 minutes.
“The squad has hit a low point and a route and branch review of what went wrong, why it happened and where we are going is now underway.
“The board of directors accept they have inherited a squad, which has been stripped of talent and hampered by injuries.
“But that cannot be used as an excuse for what happened at the DW Stadium.
“The club's new owner, Marc Green, is working tirelessly to improve its fortunes. In our sport, I have never met anyone as committed to turning something around.
“Supporters can rest assured that no stone will be left unturned as Mr Green and his team address the problems currently facing the club.
“At this stage, all we ask is for you, our fantastic supporters, to work with us and remain as committed as you have always been.
“We are commited to again making this club something for you, the supporters, to be proud of."
