Not impressed. Would rather see Caprice, Clare, Thomas and Campbell get a run there. Just keep our cap free until the right player comes along. He's not the quickiest, hasn't played for god knows how and will his heart truly be in it when he's got another job with Warrington?

Would love to hear Mick Gledhill's explanation on his tweet for MG getting the cheque book out. Once again he hasn't a clue.

Waste of salary cap. What happened to ferrets strategy of only signing players who were better than what we have?. Mathers has been poor for yrs.

Underwhelmed if I'm honest, never been a fan of his and don't see the logic in this signing at all. Will judge him on his performances in our colours but does he improve our squad.. I don't think so.

Why anyone bother listening to Gledhill I will never know, I can only assume it's people who weren't on here at the same time he was and don't know how much guff he spouted. Nothing has changed in that regard.

TBF when Mathers' was first suggested I thought, ok maybe on a 6-month deal until Campbell is up to speed. But I dunno if you can sign someone for half a season.

But we have Oscar Thomas who went well in the friendly and is pretty quick. Clare can play there.

Decent players will become available in the year who will IMPROVE our squad, why don't we just be patient and wait for them.

Annoying thing is, i can see Mathers being one of Jimmy's favourites and it will turn into another Lauaki situation where dispite being poor, he won't be dropped.

P15s poor.
Would have been happier with Craig hall. At least he offers some utility value.
I echo other's comments. Waste of cap space and how does he improve the squad.
Thomas looked good against Leeds. Caprice could well be a gem and we have proven players in Campbell and Clare who can play FB aswell.

I've yet to see one Bulls fan praising this signing. Hardly torn opinion eh?

I hope it doesn't affect that last push for season ticket sales if so many of our fans are unhappy with it.
