The Bulls influence on world RL : Tue Jun 30, 2009 6:12 pm
Is there an English club which currently has spread a wider influence on RL, taking both hemispheres into account?

Past Bulls players and/or coaches now coaching at top grade are I think

Matthew Elliott
Brian Smith
Ivan Henjak
Brian Noble
Mick Potter
Brian McDermott
James Lowes
Steve McNamara

That's over 25% of all first grade SL and NRL coaches!
Plus there's Karl Harrison ex-SL coach.

Is there something in the water?

Bradford gave us Hockney, Leeds gave us Moyles.

Not bad to say none of them have a Plan B. Plan A must be pretty good.

Including Henjak is a bit of a leap!

Lowes = ex-SL head coach. However if you look at senior assistant coach the you can add at least Paul Anderson (Giants) and maybe Foreshaw and Vievers.

As someone else mentioned... Henjak???

A more remarkable list would be head coaches who played or coached under Brian Smith.

Noble will be off that list soon.

How many of them are currently successful?

Mcdermott, but then let's not forget he spent some time learning his trade at leeds, not bradford. Mick potter granted.

Bradford are currently unsuccessful and so are many of the coaches who came out of their system.

Their ''influence'' on world rl is partially negative.

Good job, dave man.

Brian Smith seems to be doing a good job with the Knights so far this season. Then again, I'd argue that he had more of an influence on Bradford than Bradford had on his later successes (yes, I know he hasn't won any meaningful silverware yet).
