Deserves his own thread.

Going after 13 years a Bull. A great servant to the club. Will go down as a solid player. Not top class but decent IMO. A tough defender with a high workrate rather than a destructive runner or creative player. He won a GF winners ring in 2005 but stuck with us through the McBanana years and beyond. Thanks Langers.

It will seem strange seeing him play against the Bulls for another team, thanks for everything Langers!

As a side note, does anyone else in our squad qualify for the £50k cap exemption? Hardly a priority of ours I know, but I'm not sure there's anyone else near the required years of service.

Kopczak was next in line for 50k exemption. Guess one off addy or donno is next who'll qualify for it, although not or a few years.

Yeah I didn't think anyone was close to it. Not like we'll be looking to spend over our available cap anyway...

Spoke to Langley he's gutted about going he's even left it late to find another club as he was hoping to stay. In talks with 4 clubs didn't say witch hope we can give him a great send off he was 100% loyal to us could have left years ago but stayed I wish him the best coyb

Re: Jamie Langley : Fri Sep 06, 2013 6:14 pm
Cheers for the loyal service Jamie, lets make sure he gets a good send off.

I asked the club today if they were doing a big screen tribute like we used to do for long serving players leaving, last survivor from our golden era, With sky being at odsal.

I thought a big screen montage including highlights of his two world club championships and super league 2005 wins might have lifted the crowd at half time and helped a little with the season ticket push on sat, remind people what it was like to see our team as the best in the world...but it doesn't sound like that's happening, shame, missed opportunity I feel.

Sad to see him go but it is probably the correct decision, although I am a little surprised no deal at all was offered by the club. Unless he made it clear he wanted a certain amount and we simply weren't interested in matching that amount.

But Langers has been a great servant to the club and deserves a big send off from the Bulls. Good luck at your new club Jamie!

Well done Jamie, u deserve it. It will certainly be strange seeing him in another teams shirt next season. He certainly deserves to stay in super league and I'm sure he's got another year or 2 in him at the top level.

Good luck Langers COYB!!!!

There was something in the T&A about how both he and Platt were offered reduced deals to stay, but it does seem that the amount asked for was greater than what was offered.

Great servant to the club and the last of the 'championship' winning side to leave. I honestly thought we'd hang on to him and he'd finish his career as a one club man. It sort of feels the same as when Robbie left. Jamie played the game in the right way and was a model professional off the field. Best of luck in the future.
