I expect we'll have "McBanana can't coach" arguments as long as we have holes in hour harses, but the fact is he was highly rated by both many in the game and that includes many players including many decent players, and at least enough people near the top rated him enough to give him the natioanl coach job, so some people must see some potential somewhere.
As none of us are ever going to persuade others to change their views - Mac is a love-him-or-hate-him coach, I can see this thread degenerating quite quickly, but it is refreshing to note that Mac's admirers even include high-ups in the stratified heights of the NRL.
Maybe they should sign him now, before he masterminds our World Cup win, and his price goes up.
