Always been a fan even when he was going through 2 years of hell with his knees, and knew he would come back better, he may not break the line like whitehead did but the amount of work he puts in the unreal, possibly a new Jamie Langley on our hands

Agree he struggle through his knee injuries! But his defence is far superior than Whiteheads, their attacking dimensions are very different so difficult to compare.

I like Whitehead and gutted he left but honestly... if I HAD to choose between the two I would prefer Donaldson.

Whitehead could break the line but the line going the other way could just as easily break round him

I can't really blame any player for leaving, but those that stay, assuming we stay and maybe even if we don't, have a chance to write themselves into the folklore of this club.

Donaldson could conceivably finish a career with no medals but could be spoken of in the same breath as Forshaw or Gartner.

Don't have to win anything to be considered great.

Every team needs a grafter, if he had the line break ability of Whitehead i think he would be an easy pick for the national team.
Think he is far more concerned with protection ie. Defence, than going for glory, got to admire that, as he isnt slow so i think if he wanted to he could make good breaks.

My view is he plays a lot more down the middle whereas Whitehead plays more out wide... that's probably why Whitehead seems to make more breaks.

Its a lot harder to break the line down the middle... mind you, he did against London to set-up Addy

This article is great. On the flipside I personally don't want to read another word about Carvell in the T&A. I don't give a toss about him.
