The end of an embarrassing record. : Sun Aug 24, 2014 9:21 am
Leeds Rhinos have finally ended the worst run of lost Challenge Cup Finals in RL. Having played in 93 finals now losing each one in a row. Captain Sinfield is said to be extremely relieved to finally lay the ghost to rest of Cardiff 1898 when he should have kicked the penalty that would have taken the final against Bradford to a replay at the White city stadium (or was it Boughton I can't remember). Dave Woods and Tanya Arnold have both resigned from the BBC stating off the record that the prospect of not being able to base their enter CC coverage around the question of "is it Leeds' year?" as too much of a challenge. BBC bosses are confident though that they can fill in the gap by just playing the Eddie Waring commentary of Don Fox's missed kick over and over and over again.
