So then, Theo Fages becomes the latest Salford player to resign citing "breach of contract."

With this club in what appears to be a terminal decline under the Vincent Tan of Rugby League are they now doomed to oblivion should we pass them on the way up to Super League?

And how many now still wish that Mrs Knobrash succeeded in her takeover bid?

Sadly for Salford, i think they are now in a decline they won't recover from. Yes Koukash has money, but the amount of bad news stories coming out of the club from unhappy players, players leaving, former players being taken to court, sponsors not being payed, foul mouthed press conferences, why would any player want to sign there? If Salford survive this season, they will struggle again as players just won't want to go there.

Avoiding Mrs Koukash was the best thing that happened to this club. At the time i was gutted Koukash didn't take over, but looking at the way Marc Green has run the club, and has conducted himself, is testament to him.

Feel for the Salford fans as Koukash is dragging their club through the mud.

They're in complete meltdown at the minute. Koukash is running his mouth on Twitter claiming that Fages' agent has orchestrated the resignation. Their PR people must be embarrassed with it all.

I fear for Salford at the moment. If they lose to Wakefield in round 1 their heads will go down. Do the players they have there care about their club's survival?

What a mess they seem to be in right now, I'm sure Wakefield will be very confident of taking 2 points off them on Sunday.

Koukash has made a lot of poor decisions with that club and only recently started to bring in good RL people like Tim Sheens. Whether he will listen to the advice given is another thing but he certainly seems to have the means to make the club successful on the pitch but it'll probably take longer than he is willing to wait. What he'll do if the Reds find themselves facing relegation is anyone's gues.

I'm not sure many would have picked Green over Koukash last year if given the choice but I'm pretty sure most would right now.

Given the general agreement that the SL clubs have huge advantage in the middle 8's from the Bulls point a view the fact that one of the SL clubs is in turmoil has to be a massive positive - they might even fail to reach the million dollar match.
What odds can you get on the Bulls playing Leigh in SL next year?

You have to feel sorry for the genuine supporters of the club, not that they seem to have very many, but I'm sure they're hurting right now. It impacts badly on the game too as, once again, we're garnering headlines we could do without.

Whether it's an ill wind which will blow any good in our direction is hard to say. Salford have some classy players and if they develop a 'backs to the wall' mentality, and all pull together, well anything can happen - they could just as easily fall apart.

It does suggest, despite how we all felt at the time, that we were very lucky in how things panned out after our, last financial 'episode'. If the timings had been different all this could have been happening at Odsal.

Simply on Fages... Let the process drag out until we are sure to be going up and then step in to sign him

Fages and Gaskell would be a great paring!

I do not wish ill or bad upon the Salford club though at all! After all we know what it's like!

I'd guess there will be a fair bit of legal stuff going on before he signs anywhere else - and good as he is, we don't want to get involved in that!

If we hang on until it's sorted then I agree, Fages is a great prospect.

Not sure who I want to win the Salford/Trinity match. Don't want Smithy getting Trinity on a roll particularly, but a demoralised Salford at ours would be good also. Oh - the tension!!
