Did I miss something last weekend?

According to Radio Leeds, Jimmy Lowes has been quoted as saying, "Lee Gaskell hasn't been completely ruled out of playing at Wakefield". What is he on about? Is it mind games or what?

He has to play otherwise we are screwed imo

Not 100% certain that's true, to be honest but there has been no suggestion, that I've heard, that's he's suffered another injury or relapse, so what's Lowesy on about? He looked fit enough last weekend.

Agree didnt look out of place at all in a beaten team, could just be confused, he mustn't be in Lowes head as being in the 17 looking at what he has said, seems odd to comment on it now, and leave it open to interpretation

I guess it depends if he has felt any pain or any other symptoms from playing on Saturday. I got the impression the injury wasn't straightforward and I guess it's very difficult to know for sure when internal organs are damaged.

The other question is do we take the gamble on a player who hasn't really played much rugby recently in our biggest match of the year?
I'd probably say he is worth the gamble but it's hard to see him hitting top form in this match when you consider the time out of and the delicate nature of his injury.

I expect he will play and partner Siejka, I think he is probably worth the gamble just for his kicking game to be honest.

It seems it could be just a bit of miss communication on Radio leeds part as that was the exact same quote Lowes gave the media before the Halifax game before the squad was released.

When asked about Gaskell on pre match press conference on bulls TV, jimmy just said they were monitoring his reaction to playing. Didn't sound like there was any great concern tbh.
Sounds like Anderson is out for season for wakes with medial ligament damage and smith was pretty adamant that smith and Locke wouldn't play, though I'll take that with a pinch of salt.

Locke is back in New Zealand and has no intention of returning to the UK anytime soon.

Yep seen that on Twitter. More worried about smith re-appearing tbh. He's wine who pulls wakeys strings and would be a big loss if they stick to moral high ground and keep him suspended.

Edit: confirmed on sporting life that Locke has left wakey officially. There a bit more cagey about smith but say unlikely to be resolved before game.

It's an usual reason for been suspended though isn't it.
