Thought the young lad deserved his own thread. Only his second first team appearance and was a shining light in a game his senior team mates were a shambles.

He looked lively at dummy half and showed some good skills. Defensively he was very good as well and played 60+minutes.

For me i'd like to see us use 2 hookers from now on. O'Brien for me has been pretty average in attack so far this season. But that's because he's being flogged and is using so much energy defending,he's barely got any energy to use his attacking flair which we saw ripping sides to pieces last year.

If he gets a 20 minute rest during the game that will be a huge difference and allow him to recharge the batteries and also Lumb can cause some problems at dummy half as he will be fresh.

So I fully expect coach Lowes to continue to flog O'Brien for 80 mins every game then panic come the middle 8s when he realises he's shattered and puts a centre there again...

Obrien doesn't have any attacking flair. He can't pass for a start off. Been better off keeping Conroy who can distribute the ball and has better vision.

Joe played very well last night and was easily one of our better players and a shining light. Agree with BM, Adam O'B needs to be given a break to get back to where he was a season back - you can only flog someone for so long..

Are you seriously saying Conroy is a better player than O'Brien?

Should never of let Conroy go... No way is he a better player than OB at this point in time, but he would be an excellent 2nd hooker; as would young Lumb by the looks of it.

But jimmy managed 80minutes every week so so can they. Isnt that how it works?

I've always liked us with two hookers. Newton or Diskin conventional hookers, L'estrange to come on and nip about.Lumb and O'Brien would be in the same mould.

No. Not at the moment, but I think he will be in a few years. Can't see Conroy staying in the Championship for too long.

He has certainly got more to his game that Obrien. O'brien is a scooter and that's it. Conroy is a ball player.
