Heard he’s off to Hudders. Also heard he’s out for at least 12 weeks. We may have seen the last of him.

If Hudds don't get their fingers out we may see him at least twice next year. Unless we go in the opposite direction

Think he's been linked with just about everybody. Would be surprised with he went to hudds as they seem to have plenty of options at HB and Gaskell wouldn't be that cheap wit leigh offering big money and us keen to keep him. Unless Brough is leaving?

If he is out for 12 weeks that would be a big blow. Never seem to have luck with our injuries. Some clubs seem to have season ending injuries to players who then come back 8 weeks later. Our hamstring injuries are always 3-6 month layoffs

I don't think that that is much of an issue TBH.

Thing is if you do a hamstring then it is almost always going to be months rather than weeks, which is why when the injury was announced along with "he might be back next week" I assumed either he had nothing at all except a the mildest of mild hamstring tweaks (not our sort of luck); or would be out for months; or else it was just a cover story.

I am on the one hand very surprised that he decided to stick with us, and much respect to him for making that choice; but OTOH despite having played a lot of hours, to me he hasn't really shown much at all this season, yes he has not had a proper halfback to work with but then after Gale left, he never did, and yet before the thug Groat crocked him, he was regularly putting on magnificent displays. I'd even say maybe he's never fully recovered from that. There does, to me, seem to be something missing from his game.

I'm sure in the right team, used correctly, he can be and will be devastating for someone. For more than a couple of reasons, though, that doesn't look much like being us.

Really can't be bothered anymore. If any of our players want away then please leave. They are hardly a bunch of world beaters. We're currently 6th in the Championship so exactly how much will losing all these player effect our performance? Will we become average? If Huddersfield think that Gaskell will be the answer to them finally winning something then they are deluded. Just like Hull KR trying sign any Championship player that shows an ounce of ability. How about trying to develop a few of your own youngsters?

Any player that can find a better deal elsewhere then get your self off so that the money can be spent on players that want to get the Bulls back to the top.

Absolutely spot on. The rams we're no way a world beating team but a couple of solid players and a squad with nouse (play acting to get a break) and the determination to run their blood to water for the cause made a mockery of our 'SL Standard' show ponies.

12 weeks?!

Blimey, he seems to have copped a few bad injuries in recent seasons. Here's hoping he gets over them, whoever he is playing for next season. (Dave 'Nosey' Parker suggests we - Leigh -are in for him for next season, so that definitely won't happen! )

I can't pretend I'm not bothered about players leaving, there are quite a few I'd be very disappointed to lose - particularly the ones we've brought through the system.

That said, I agree and if a player thinks he can better his career, or his family's life, by being elsewhere, then fair enough let them go - a bloke who wants to be here is infinitely better than one who doesn't, however talented.
