Best Bradford 17 from Rugby Union : Fri Oct 14, 2016 11:32 am  

Some of these names go back a bit. Can anyone make up a Bradford 17 that all came direct from union?

Some like Jim Mills and Berwyn Jones came from other clubs.

Darrall Shelford, Brett Iti, Gerald Cordle.

Neil Summers was one of our colts who went to union then came back IIRC.

Tough one this. One's I can remember/know of are:

Gerald Cordle
Phil Ford
Darrall Shelford
Jon Scales
Matt Cook
Mike Forshaw (League to Union, back to league and then back to union again)
Andy Hodgson (a real push at this one if he gets in... signed from Wharfedale RFU)

Does Robbie and Henry Paul count after their brief flings with Union?

Think the Paul's are a bit of a stretch. They're both league lads really.

Think we need a hand from our more "experienced" posters with this team!

Brian Butler (Prop) and Stuart Gallacher (Second row) both came direct from Llanelli in 1970

Jon Scales came to us from Leeds so woudn't really count on our list, imo also Mike Forshaw played for both Wakey and Wigan before us, iirc, so neither were "our" conversions.

Fordy came from Wigan as part of the Hanley deal.

and believe he started in union,then signed for Warrington before moving to Wigan
