I believe the main kits are usually decided to some degree (at least the design is) with the suppliers months in advance, whilst the previous season is still in motion so I’d be surprised if the RFL didn’t have some idea already of what we might trot out in in 2017 should we make it. I also would think any new owners would carry on with any 2017 kit plans once they get there as the links should be in place already. Of course we don’t currently have a membership with the RFL so I doubt they’ll be too bothered about kit clashes, and if it came to it I think we’d probably play in amended version of the 2016 kit to begin with, covering up any sponsors who no longer want to be associated (Provident still do though looking at their Facebook stuff).
I always tend to get a kit for Christmas, so can understand the frustration but the folk who get them then are diehards probably as likely to get them after Christmas if the money was going to the new club – and knowing they were buying a replica kit the club will actually play in – rather than buying what could be a dud simply for the sake of putting something under the tree. For that reason I don't think the clamour for new shirts is huge whilst we are in limbo and could be a big money loser either way. Shame I know as a new Bulls shirt is always a simple pleasure of mine.
