What NJ is saying is that for no fee to be involved you would be in the real deep stuff, Beaumont is on record as wishing you well in getting out the mess so that is something most hope can be avoided. If the new owner has to slash the costs then some players will not accept the terms
The article can be taken two ways really. As you say, one way is simply them looking at our squad, knowing James Clare is one of our better players so start asking questions to coaches and when one says he's good, sensationalise it.
On the other hand, there's every chance it's a matter of once TUPE kicks in, the player intends to take advantage to get himself a better deal elsewhere.
You can understand Bulls fans expecting the latter, largely because that's exactly what happened with Huddersfield and Craig Kopczak. Hopefully it's the former.
