To be right, some people are indeed, incapable of respecting a silence imo, especially after a few bevvies and pretending that it isn't so helps no-one. Fortunately the vast majority of those aren't rugby fans, though I have to say that over the years I've heard a few bozos during silences at RL games, however few and far between. There was obvious potential for it to be spoiled but clearly they judged it right or got away with it (take your pick). Well deserved respect for the players.
That echoes my experience too. I have seen them disrupted at RL games but it's always fallen into one of three categories. 1) Children (forgivable), 2) The person coming out of the stand/loo who doesn't realise a silence has started and is gobbing off / singing (forgivable as long as you believe the mistake was genuine), 3) Drunken idiots at one of those games that is designed for non-regular fans who come along just for a session (Grand Final / Cup Final / Magic Weekend / Summer Bash etc).
Third one not forgivable, but those games tend to have a much larger contingent of non-RL fans, and whilst I won't pretend all RL fans are angels, I also don't think that's necessarily a coincidence. Alcohol + idiot is never a good sum.
