I don’t get the negativity towards Chalmers. He’s stepped into lead the club when we had no other viable options, and after seeing others struggle and fail. He may not turn out to be the saviour we all hope for, but until that turns out to be the case, he deserves the support of the fan base.

I don’t have an issue with his decision to take the bulls away from odsal. It’s the only logical and sensible decision he could make. Odsal is the biggest reason the club is in this predicament, and until the club has dealt with the situation, it will always be on shaky foundations.

Of the three main parties involved in the discussions and negotiations, I’d take Chalmers leadership over that of The RFL (who are leading the sport on a slow death march) and of Bradford Council (who are incapable of making any inroads into the city’s continual decline)

Can somebody explain to me what advantage Chalmers could gain from going into administration/liquidation? Surely he is trying to protect his investment by leaving Odsal.The RL appointed him they should back him.

Nothing to do with the company accounts. Champ clubs submit income projections to the RFL and based on those agree a salary cap. Sounds as though they don't believe the basis of the submitted figures.

I think it's just that everyone's more than a bit gun-shy over Bradford owners. However, Chalmers has done better in his 3 years than the last 3 owners managed across their shorter reigns in as much as we've had no administrations or serious financial issues. In that time we've hired a decent head coach and put together a solid team that got promoted from League 1 and has had a decent season in the Championship. We've also continued to improve our youth setup and have had more players make their debuts.

Everyone knows that Odsal is a moneypit - It's just that Chalmers is the first to actually say it out-loud and actually do something about it that is within the club's budget.
