Re: Not playing at Odsal next year? : Sat Aug 24, 2019 7:14 am
There's a massive chunk of missing information between ACs claim that we can't afford to stay at Odsal and the RFLs claim that the decision is poor.

What element of it is 'poor' and why?

What a mess..... AGAIN

I agree that there is a lot of missing information here between the chipper pronouncements of Andrew Chalmers and the whole tone of the RFL statement.

Whilst the way that the press release is written is really poor, and reflects really badly on the so-called 'governing body', there are some key points that do need answering

1. They say that the plan to return to Bradford 'lacks credibility'. Well, from what has been said thus far, it actually does lack credibility. Bearing in mind the length of time it has taken York to take possession of a finished stadium, and the complete lack of progress with Wakefield and Castleford for the past 20 years, what reasonable person could seriously believe that Chalmers can deliver a new stadium in Bradford within 2-4 years?

2. Missing financial information apparently, according to the RFL - yet Chalmers was saying in League Express that he has provided detailed budgets, projections, plans etc. Someone is not telling the truth here - but who is it?

3. The decision to leave Odsal is 'poor' - but poor for who? Obviously the RFL are 72K 'poorer'. But in what other ways would that be regarded as a poor decision. It has been presented as the ONLY decision that could have been made. What alternative was /is proposed by the RFL?

So we now cannot sign any players, and presumably most of the squad will simply sign with other teams, leaving us with no team anyway for next season. Yet we are still selling season tickets on the website?

As I think I've Osteen before, every fresh debacle leaves me less and less connected to the club. This time, I'm surprised at how little I care. I suspect we are heading for Administration / Liquidation again, and I don't even feel that I can be bothered to care about it anymore.

Sad times...

Rumour is that the RL loaned last months wages.that would explain the RL stance.

I think it’s worth remembering that there will be a lot of ‘rumour’ going around right now. Some might well be true but plenty will also be absolute nonsense, take it all with a pinch of salt. Seems like there is plenty of dramas still left to unfold though, never dull is it?

Surely if the RFL are worried about our finances then "cutting our cloth" and moving to Dewsbury to reduce costs would be a good thing, not "poor"...

With special measures - which will surely drag on for months knowing the RFL's reactivity - next season is looking like 2017 all over again, no players, youngsters getting walloped each week.

Pretty much the same for me, which is sad.

Two sides selling two completely different stories. Personally I wish the RFL would just come out and confirm wtf is going on with the Bulls. They’re hinting at things without actually saying it. I think with everything that’s gone on over the years, the fans actually deserve more than that.

Let's wait and see. Chalmers needs to make the next move but the lack of anything by way of a reaction from him this morning is alarming.

If he's in New Zealand he'll have woken up Saturday morning to the statement from RFL.

If it is another re-run of 2017 I'm not sure I can sit through that again.

It was sickening to watch and at some point player welfare has to take precedence over a p*****g contest between club administrators and RFL.

The governing body have literally conspired with the various owners of the club to bring it down - in what other sport would you get this mess? I'm fast running out of patience it's embarrassing.

It's already had a leg off and an eye out and is now riddled with disease. It's time to put the old dog down.

Well Chalmers has resonded (I'll use that term losely) confirming its been accepted but making no acknowledgment of the special measures or the pretty damming RFL statement.

Well wages are due next week so guess if we are in the poop we'll find out.

Think that T&A column would have been written a couple of days ago.

Anyone else have the feeling/conspiracy theory that when the RFL accepted Chalmer's bid - after apparently ignoring some of the others - that they thought they were getting a yes man on board? Now it turns out he's not, they plan on making life as difficult as possible for him?
