You're really not getting the point are you? The club had no choice but to play the game at 6.15pm.

My point about 6pm kick offs in the past was that 15k people didn't have an issue with it then so why would it be an issue now.
God help us if we do ever get back to SL as there will be at least 3-4 games on a Thursday evening that kick off at 8pm. Folk will literally implode!!!

You know if people spoke to you the way you try patronise them you'd soon get an hair up your 4rse...

Anyway, no-one is blaming the club, just as no one is questioning the need to get the games in front of people.

The question was 'Will being on the App impact the attendance?'. The answer was yes and one of the reasons being Sunday night not being kid friendly amongst others.

That turned out to be the case just as it did years ago.

Odsal, 2003 - average was 14,776 on Sunday and 16,031 on Friday. But we played Leeds twice, once on Sunday and once on Friday. Take Leeds out of the equation and you have 14,672 on Sunday and 13,504 on a Friday.

So to Bulls2487's point the RFL really have to choose the games carefully. Move Halifax to 6.15pm and you may offset your losses but Sheffield or London and you're hitting the club hard.

Just because some of us left the kids at home and had to deal with the fall out doesn't make us lesser fans.

Woh woh woh... I'm not trying to patronise anyone. I'm simply making a point that it was not the clubs choice to switch to a later kick off and that in days gone we did actually have a not so disimilar timeslot on a regular basis. Sarcastic yes (thats just my humour) but if someone chooses to not attend or bring their child, that is their business and in no way would/should that detract from what kind of fan you are.

Back to the original question, Sheffield were never going to bring as many as Fev so I don't think we can really draw paralells between the two attendances. I personally thought it would be down to as little as 2k but the crowd numbers attending did surprise me.

I really am not one to defend the RFL but I think with this they are between a rock and a hard place. Stream it at 3pm Sunday and you will get compaints that those attending other fixtures can't watch, move to a Saturday and people will say they have other plans, Thursdays and Fridays are taken up with SL games on TV... so where do we all think would be a suitable day/timeslot if not Sunday late afternoon/early evening?

Fair enough, probably me missing it!

I don't there will ever be a consensus, I remember when we tried more Friday night games it didn't work out but some loved it (including me).

I just think the RFL need to be more careful with the planning. There's so much more than at stake.

More than SL clubs we're all on a knife edge in this division. 900 paying customers is a big impact, it's also harsh on semi pro players that have to go to work the day after.

There's no ideal solution so for me, it's take the wrath of the 9 year old and head out..

Though it would be good to do a double header and do the 3pm game with and immediate follow up 5pm kick off. See how that pans out.

I couldn't make Oldham so watched on the app and was a little lost for stuff to do after, I'd have happily ploughed into the Ram's game but instead forgot it was on...Maybe even have a Crown Flatt double header when the grounds firm up...
