Featherstone (H) : Mon Aug 28, 2023 10:51 am
3rd V 1st then. How massive would a win here do for the club and the belief.

We need to be on it from minute 1 to get a win. They are beatable though as Fax have proved twice. I've said it before, Fev remind me of that team you played at junior rugby where every player on their team is bigger than yours and they just bully everybody. But as soon as they come up against a team they can't just steam roll, they look vulnerable IMO looking at their forum they still seem to be clunky in attack. So expecting Chisholms usual man of the match performance against us.

Our goal line defence will be key, if we can stop them trampling over us, then challenge them to create a try on our small pitch, we'll give ourselves a chance.

I do feel excited for this game rather than the usual "I hope we keep it under 50" feeling.

Can everybody make sure that they bring their tape-measure for James Ford to borrow to measure the pitch.

Well we clearly have more to play for than Fev, so hopefully that will help our cause. Next two games at home will be massive if we want to hold onto 3rd spot. It will also be excellent preparation for play off rugby that may follow.

Should be a good yardstick as to where we are at the moment. We'll need to put in a properly consistent performance for the full 80mins which isn't something we've managed too often this year.

Concerned about points conceded v Swinton. Some of our key players are going to find it a lot tougher this week.

Yeah we let in some soft tries by the look of the highlights. That kind of inconsistency will be punished by Fev.

Yeah watching the full game back, we had a bit of luck with bounce of the ball, or Swinton bombing a chance. So much improvement needed.

We need muscle up for this one, can’t afford to get bullied or they will roll over us. I would put out a big forward pack to match them up front, if we can compete physically cut out individual errors and keep penalties to a minimum we have a decent chance of a good result.
All this is easily said, actions speak louder than words.

He's been charged with GBH & wounding with intent. Assume that's him finished at Featherstone.
