After talking to a local ref. The contact list is sent out to all clubs and any match official who passes a RFL exam so how can it be covered by data protection??

Because in that case the information is being used for the purposes for which it was collected.

However you want to spin it, the personal details of match officials are not collected so they can be passed on to a trade union without their permission.

The list differs to the one the clubs are sent.

Typical.....we have to learn of the appointment via Foxsports in Oz.

However, am not that surprised as Leeds might think that an to early Aussie ref announcement could hurt ticket sales......
