I don't know what everyone else thinks but the quality of play last night by both sides was truly rubbish. Having watched an excellent game last week at Huddersfield where both teams performed brilliantly I can comfortably say the Giants will be above Harlequins RL and Wigoon this year (injuries permitting).

Both defences were garbage and neither side appeared to have any sort of gameplan with the ball. Whenever it is that Brian McDermott gets the boot (this year, next year or year after) Harlequins RL must go for a good antipodean coach. They haven't had a decent one since Tony 'Olympic Speed' Currie and that's why they haven't been anywhere near the top since.

Why can't British coaches teach defence?

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

Wigan's last 'horror' start to the season ended with a Lancs Cup win over Fulham, achieved as a result of a mistake by Fulham winger Adrian Cambriani. Funny how history repeats itself (almost).

surely their last "horror start" was about three years ago when they won two (?) of their first fourteen.

As a Quins fan I have to agree unfortunately. I thought we played pretty well for the first half and should have been almost home and dry by the break but for poor finishing. Wigan were shocking in the first half and both sides were pretty mediocre in the second, with Quins conceding almost every time we came under pressure. The inteception try given away by Randall (who was otherwise prbably our best player) was truly painful to watch, with Quins four points ahead and leass than five minutes to go. Now I know how Cas felt when they did the same thing against us right at the end of the first half a couple of weeks back!

I was taking a swipe at the media hype - hence 'horror'.
