Thought Stevo was being blunt on Boots n All.

"The players aren't being very truthful in these surveys".

Says it all for me, if you compare that comment to what the players have supposedly said in the report.

Offiah was right when he said no one is taking responsibility.

Loads of money spent by England, loads of PR about being the best prepared team ever then our crappiest performances ever. And NO ONE is responsible.

The bottom line is Tony Smith did a poor job (he had Steve mac as his assistant for pity sake!!) and he was appointed by Lewis and Nigel Wood. A fish rots from the head down and these guys haven't the b*lls to admit it.

What input, if any, was there from fans who paid out thousands of pounds to go and support them? I spent two days in the same hotel as the squad and from Lewis down to the kit-man there was not spirit, no acknowledgement of the fans, no cameraderie amongst players, and I said on here at the time that there was no team spirit at all. Where has that been addressed in the "review" whitewash.

I was in townsville town centre outside the holiday inn when the PNG squad wer coming out of the hotel, they spoke to the fans who were there and you could see the pride they put into the game that night, no pride in wearing the england shirt at all

A talking point has been the relationships between Leeds and St Helens players but there was no evidence whatsoever that it affected the performance of the team

This is a lie

The camps wouldnt even walk off the pitch together, never mind play like a team

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

they would have been better spending the money they spent on this whitewash on a big mickey up on the beach in Surfers Paradise the weekend before the PNG game - that would have galvanised some team spirit.

Offiah was right  there is no accountability, Smith was supposedly the fantastic coach who was going to lead us to glory. 2 years full time work from him to achieve sod all. Without doubt he should be sacked immediately. Yes, the players were woeful - but the coaching staff has to take a lot of the responsibility for that.
