Northern Rail Cup Madness : Mon Jun 08, 2009 3:10 pm
Just noticed that the Northern Rail Cup Semi between Barrow and Featherstone has been chosen for the Thursday night game on 18/06 and the other Semi is at the weekend.

So faced with a choice between getting part timers to do a days work and then travel 4 hours on a coach from Featherstone to Cumbria or getting full time proffesionals to travel from Widnes 1.5 hours along the M62 to Halifax they've gone with the former.

This immediately puts Featherstone at a disadvantage and also reduces the prospective gate at Barrow for the match.

I have no ties to any of the clubs involved but would think the best thing for the competition, the clubs and sky would be to have as level a playing field as possible with the best crowd attendance/atmosphere for the TV match.

Widnes are not full-time, just ask Paul Cullen.

I think there are 9 full-time players at the club, the rest are part-time.

Naff all fev fans will get up there now, we shall struggle to take up more than 100, mainly with the short notice.

But will be a great day no matter what.

Got a car full and will be singing for the 80 minutes even if we are getting stuffed by a cricket score.

Come on you cappers!!! :D

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

Fev and Barrow fans have been complaining about not getting any TV exposure and moaning about Widnes and Halifax getting too much.

Well here it is. :D

They don't exist in the Championship i'm afraid (and no - i'm not talking about Batley's pitch :) )

I could swear Fev have been on at least three times already this season!

And as for putting the most viable game on for the remaining sides and most entertaining game for TV viewers, that is non-existant. There is no thought put in at all, ridiculous!

After what they did to Quins fans for the game in France, are you suprised.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Come on people a couple of years ago we were all grumbling about not being on't telly

Now we all moan because we are on't telly

Seriously who thinks it helps us in any way ?
