Bradford - is that it then ? : Sun Mar 15, 2009 5:32 pm
is this latest hammering the final nail in the Bulls Super League glory days coffin ?

does this confirm they are now not one of Super League's big boys anymore and should be put in the same group of teams like Huddersfield,Wakefield,Hull etc - the middle section of Super League if you like or will they still be around for years as one of the big 3 /4 ?

BTW this is not a troll just a genuine post to see what people's opinions are of the demise of the once mighty Bulls

McNamara needs to go but I can't see anyone turning the Bulls around, need with that team.

sometimes its the players attitude not the coach, seems the bradford players dont want to play for each other.

How many years is it since Wigan did anything to be called one of the ' big four ' and Bradford for that matter ?

Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.

Quite sad, really!

No disrespect to Wakefield or Huddersfield but I think it'd be unfair and wrong to suggest we're in that middle group.

With regards to Bradford, they've being average for the last few seasons, they have an awesome forward pack but with poor backs they'll never be as good as Leeds/Saints.

why?
i think most people would agree that Hull Fc, Huddersfield and Wakefield are probably on a par - ok not a middle group then because i think all 3 have a great chance of becoming regular play off contenders.
but thats how most fans and media see it as a middle group !

Because in the last few seasons we've won the Challenge cup, finished 2nd and 4th and got to a grand final and a cup final. We're the 3rd most succesful team in the league which is above middle. I feel every year for the last couple (barring last year) we've being regular play off contenders. Compare that to Huddersfield who've reached the play-offs few times and Wakefield who haven't reached it for a few years.

Shouldn't be a surprise. Lesley Vianikolo, Robbie Paul, Shontayne Hape, Stuart Fielden, Jamie Peacock, Joe Vagana and Lee Radford have all left in recent seasons and the replacements have been players like Rikki Sherriffe, Semi Tadulala, Chris Nero, Paul Sykes, Michael Platt and Tame Topou. No offence but not the same quality is it? All those are back 5 players and I said previewing Wigan v Bradford on my site last week - theres little fear in the backs.

All the experience is ageing as well. Newton, Morrison, Menzies, Solomona all well over 30. Worrying times.
