It's been widely reported throughout the Southern Hemisphere that Hazem El Masri has become the greatest ever point scorer in the history of top flight Rugby League.



Are our Australian friends getting like the Americans in trying to re write history. We know that the Yanks are trying to claim they invented TV, the telephone, and that they decoded the enigma device etc etc.



The Ausies are now trying to erase the careers of Neil Fox (6,220 points) and Jim Sullivan (2,687 points) in favour of El Masri (2,176 points).



There's no justification for this as both Sullivan and Fox scored their points during an era when they played in the toughest League in the world in England. They both also scored many points in the Test match arena something El Masri can hardly lay any claim to.

And during days of 3pts for a try?



Similar to how records only got back to 1973 or whatever it is....I want to know how many times Wakey have beaten Leeds since the year dot!

Everything i've seen it's quite clearly stated in the summer hemisphere. Wouldn't Brian Bevan have had more points with the accumulation of all his tries?

and 2008 was the centenary of RL as well.

and glebe are the oldest RL club in the world, newtown the oldest surviving and souths the oldest top level RL club

I suppose it's a pity he's Lebanese rather than an Aussie.
